An expansion to the Las Americas Premium Outlets, the Outlets at the Border is the new retail destination in San Ysidro. Continuing the ‘Mercado’ theme, the area boasts numerous retail stores, open courtyards, and water features, to serve its customers. Several landscape amenities such as covered seating areas and planting accents serve as respite for retailers and patrons. Public improvement plans include 2,000 feet of new streetscape, bus stops, an MTS Transit Center, and an incorporation of the pedestrian border crossing at San Ysidro. Due to its proximity at the border, the development ensured the proper implementation of the California Border Patrol’s security requirements.
