William Heise Park Upgrades, County of San Diego*

This park is the most popular camping facility owned by the County of San Diego. 256 acres of the site were developed with recreational amenities including trails, cabins, tent camping, RV sites, staff facilities, play grounds, and outdoor education areas. The site was further constrained by the presence of many Native American cultural sites and habitat types, including a heritage oak woodland that has endured significant losses due to the invasive Gold Spotted Oak Borer (GSOB). The park conditions also included the addition of fire protection equipment and freeze proof water service upgrades.
