Sustainable Landscape Education Garden

San Marcos, CA

 

This Vallecitos Water District educational garden added six sustainability concepts and their related landscape features to a previously existing garden used for outreach to local school children. The concepts include: a California Native Desert Oasis, a Firewise Garden, a Wildlife Garden, a Water Delivery and Conservation Garden, a Rain Garden and human use areas to support social sustainability goals. Each education area includes landscape features, educational signage and plant material reflective of each concept. This project is currently in the design phase with anticipated construction starting in summer 2022.
